GRS Bipod - Heavy-Duty Bipod with Spigot Mount
The GRS Bipod is a robust, heavy-duty rifle support designed for shooters who refuse to compromise on stability and accuracy. Originally designed for F-Class, ELR (Extreme Long Range), and other precision disciplines, this Norwegian bipod offers a unique combination of robustness, simple operation, and maximum adjustability.
Please note: This product includes the GRS Bipod without mount adapter. The bipod features a spigot mount inlet and requires a separate spigot adapter for mounting on your weapon. Our Fortmeier mount adapters are excellently suited for mounting this GRS bipod.
Spigot Mount System - More Precise than Standard
The GRS Bipod uses a spigot mount system instead of the traditional clamp rings seen on many other bipods. The spigot system offers important advantages:
Tighter Tolerances: GRS designed their spigot system with tighter tolerances than most spigot-mounted bipods on the market. This results in less play and a more solid connection.
Quick Mounting and Dismounting: Once the spigot adapter is mounted on your weapon, you simply slide the bipod over the spigot and tighten the locking lever. Your bipod is mounted or removed in seconds.
Versatility: The spigot system enables both top-mount (12:00, above barrel) and bottom-mount (6:00, below barrel) configurations, depending on your adapter choice.
Compatibility with Fortmeier Adapters: The spigot mount inlet of the GRS Bipod works perfectly with Fortmeier Versa-Pod compatible adapters, giving you access to the complete Fortmeier adapter ecosystem.
Compatibility with Fortmeier Mount Adapters
A major advantage of the GRS Bipod is compatibility with Fortmeier mounting systems. This means you can use the same high-quality Fortmeier adapters that also work with Fortmeier bipods:
Fortmeier Picatinny Mount: For standard Picatinny rails at the end of your handguard. Available in 6:00 and 12:00 configurations.

This compatibility makes the GRS Bipod extremely versatile. You can use one bipod on multiple weapons by simply choosing the right Fortmeier adapter for each platform.
Height Adjustment from 220mm to 315mm
The GRS Bipod offers extensive height adjustment from 220mm to 315mm (8.66" to 12.4"), measured from the center of the spigot to the ground. Adjustment occurs in 10mm (0.39") increments, providing sufficient fine-tuning for most shooting positions.
Spring-Loaded Button Operation: Height adjustment works via large, spring-loaded push buttons that you can easily operate, even with gloves on. Press the button, pull or push the leg to the desired length, release, and the leg clicks into the nearest locking groove.
Symmetric or Asymmetric Height: You can set both legs to the same height for flat terrain, or use different heights on slopes and uneven ground.
Quick Adjustments: The operation is designed so you can adjust height without having to move from behind your weapon. This is valuable during competitions or tactical scenarios where time is essential.
Tilt Function with Lock
The GRS Bipod features an adjustable tilt function essential when shooting on uneven terrain or from slopes. The tilt function operates smoothly thanks to precision bearings and can be locked at the desired angle.
Locking Lever with Leverage: A large locking lever provides sufficient leverage to easily adjust cant resistance with your fingers. This gives you complete control over how much tension is on the tilt.
From Free Swiveling to Locked: Set resistance from completely free (for quick terrain adjustments) to fully locked (for maximum stability during the shot). Most shooters choose a middle position where the bipod offers slight resistance but can still move.
Leveling: Use the tilt function to get your weapon perfectly level, even when your shooting position isn't level. This is crucial for long-range accuracy.
Reversible Feet for Any Terrain
A clever detail of the GRS Bipod is the reversible feet. Each foot can be individually rotated to choose between two different surfaces:
Smooth Side: For use on hard surfaces like concrete, wood, shooting benches, or hard ground. The smooth side prevents scratches on sensitive surfaces and provides sufficient grip without digging into the material.
Claws: For soft surfaces like earth, grass, mud, or sand. The claws dig slightly into the surface for maximum grip and stability, even with heavy recoil.
Individually Adjustable: Since each foot can be rotated separately, you can even choose a combination. For example, one foot with claws on soft ground, and one smooth foot on harder surface in mixed terrain.
Top-Mount vs Bottom-Mount Configuration
The GRS Bipod is designed for both top-mount (above barrel) and bottom-mount (below barrel) use, depending on your chosen adapter:
Top-Mount (12:00) Advantages:
- Recoil goes straight back, minimal upward recoil
- Weapon hangs naturally downward by gravity
- Easier balancing and aligning
- Popular with F-Class and ELR shooters
- Originally designed for GRS Ragnarok chassis in this configuration
Bottom-Mount (6:00) Advantages:
- Traditional configuration, familiar to most shooters
- Stays out of your scope's field of view
- Low center of gravity
- Works on virtually any weapon
Choose your adapter based on which configuration you prefer. Fortmeier offers adapters for both options.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The GRS Bipod is built like a tank. This isn't a lightweight competition bipod, but a workhorse designed to last for decades:
Aluminum and Stainless Steel Construction: The combination of high-quality aluminum and stainless steel provides optimal balance between weight and strength. The frame is CNC-machined for perfect tolerances.
Weight: Approximately 920 grams without adapter. This is heavier than some ultralight competition bipods, but the weight contributes to stability during the shot.
Durable Finish: The matte black coating is wear-resistant and prevents reflections. Even after years of intensive use, the bipod looks like new.
Easy Maintenance: All functions are accessible for cleaning and maintenance. The bipod can be completely disassembled if needed, though this is rarely necessary with normal use.
Perfect Match for Precision Shooting
The GRS Bipod was developed with input from top-level competition shooters and tested in the most demanding conditions:
F-Class: The top-mount configuration is ideal for F-Class Open where platform stability is essential for high scores at 1000 yards.
ELR (Extreme Long Range): At distances of 1500+ meters, a robust, stable platform is indispensable. The GRS Bipod delivers this stability.
Prone Shooting: Designed with prone shooting in mind, the ergonomics and adjustment options make this an excellent choice for shooting from the prone position.
Benchrest: For benchrest shooters who prefer the flexibility of a bipod over static front rests.
Tactical Precision: Law enforcement and military marksmen appreciate the reliability and robust construction.
Long Range Hunting: For ethical long-range hunting where stability is crucial for a humane, first-shot hit.
What is NOT Included
This GRS Bipod is supplied without mount adapter. You need a separate spigot adapter to mount the bipod on your weapon.
Recommended Solution: Choose one of our Fortmeier mount adapters (see links above) that are perfectly compatible with the GRS Bipod. This gives you access to a wide range of mounting options for virtually any modern weapon system.
Alternative: If you own a GRS chassis stock with integrated spigot mount, you can mount the bipod directly on it without additional adapter.
