Cigar cutters

Cigar cutters are incredibly important. Anyone who smokes a cigar with any regularity, or has ever lit one, knows this. Those who are not yet so experienced when it comes to cigars may not understand why cigar cutters are so important. Those who are preparing a cigar for the first time without a cutter, however, know immediately why experienced smokers always use them. You won't be the first, nor will you be the last, who doesn't know the importance of cigar cutters and cuts his first cigar with scissors. If no one is around to warn you, this is bound to end up in a somewhat laughable and uncomfortable situation. After all, chances are the cigar will completely fray and flake off where you cut it....

Why do cigar cutters succeed?

There is a distinct difference between cigar cutters and normal scissors. Cigar cutters cut with equal pressure from two sides and hold the cigar in place. This puts pressure on each spot and cuts the cigar equally. This keeps the end of the cigar nicely rounded. As a result, a neat tip comes off and your cigar is ready to be smoked.

If you cut off the tip of the cigar with regular scissors, you will flatten the cigar. The leaves can (and will) then pop off to the side. The result is a ragged end. This not only looks sloppy; it also makes it less enjoyable to smoke the cigar because you get all frayed in your mouth.

Anyone cutting a cigar for the first time in company should be careful: especially when someone asks you to cut a cigar. They are only too happy to prank you when they suspect that you don't know how to use cigar cutters. Well, you make that mistake once, but never again.

Many people try again to cut the cigar after a failed attempt. Usually with the same result. That's an awful shame about a good cigar, because you're left with less to smoke.

The right cutters for everyone

Cigar cutters come in different types. Very well known are the cigar cutters with the distinctive three holes. You put the tip of the cigar in the middle hole and place your fingers in the outer holes. Then you cut and the tip is trimmed off. This is pretty fool proof and these cigar cutters also look nice.

We also offer you cigar cutters (these cigar cutters are more suitable for the advanced user) and cigar punchers, also known as cigar drills. These punchers open the mouthpiece by making an opening in it, rather than cutting off a piece.

Give a friend a clipper as a gift

Cigar cutters are guaranteed to be original gifts. Have you ever seen someone give someone else a clipper at a party? Exactly. Make a friend who loves cigars happy with a stylish cigar cutter. Of course, this is an extra good gift if that friend obviously doesn't know how to smoke cigars yet.
