Vortex Impact 4000 Ballistic Rail-Mounted Laser Rangefinder
Shoot further, faster and more precisely. For long-range shooters and open-field hunters, the Impact® 4000 is the all-in-one range and ballistic problem solver. The Impact® 4000 takes the guesswork out of long-range shooting with fast, accurate ballistic corrections. Everything you need to generate aiming and shooting solutions without having to put weapon down. This advanced rail-mounted laser rangefinder delivers key distance, ballistic and weather data via the integrated GeoBallistics® solver, built-in environmental sensors and our patented Wind Bearing Capture Mode. Intuitive to use. Robust and reliable. It attaches securely to any picatinny-style rail or rings with diving board mounting.
Best of all: it works where your smartphone can't. For huge speed and precision wherever you are.

In practice
The Vortex Impact 4000 will mainly be used in competitions, long-range shooting but also by hunters. It is mounted using the Vortex Precision Diving Board mount on all Vortex Precision Rings or on another picatinny rail.
When should the Impact® 4000 be calibrated?
The Impact® 4000 must be calibrated on initial installation, before it is mounted on a weapon. You should recalibrate the Impact® 4000 every time you change location considerably, about 50 kilometres or more. The Impact® 4000 must be removed from the weapon before you start calibrating.
Calibrate the Impact® 4000 outside and away from large metal structures or objects. Calibration is important for capturing accurate target direction and to capture the slope angle and wind direction relative to your target.
What is the Wind Bearing Capture mode?
The Impact® 4000 uses the patented Wind Measurement Mode to manually input wind speed and direction. The Impact® tracks the wind direction regardless of which direction the user is looking.
