The Monstrum Ares V2 is an open reflex sight designed for rapid target acquisition at short to medium ranges. This V2 version combines proven Shake Awake technology with a selectable multi-reticle system, giving you three different reticle options at your disposal. The open design offers excellent peripheral vision and situational awareness, properties that enclosed tube red dots cannot match.
Features of the Ares V2
The most notable feature of this red dot is the Shake Awake function. The illumination automatically switches off after one hour of inactivity and reactivates instantly upon movement. This results in a battery life up to ten times longer than traditional LED-powered red dots. You don't need to worry about a dead battery when you need it most.
The multi-reticle version offers three selectable reticle options. This allows you to adapt the sight to your specific application or preference. Whether you prefer a single dot, a circle with centre point or a combined pattern, you switch between options with a single button press.
Construction and Materials
The housing is manufactured from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminium, the same material used in the aerospace industry. The UltraLUX multi-layer lens coating ensures clear vision in varying light conditions. The sight is nitrogen-filled for fog and moisture resistance and meets the IPX7 waterproof standard.
The integrated Picatinny mount with recoil lugs enables direct attachment to standard rails. The construction withstands the recoil of both large calibre rifles and shotguns.
Applications
The Ares V2 is developed for rifles and long guns, not for pistols. The unlimited eye relief makes quick shoulder transitions and dynamic shooting simple. The parallax-free construction ensures the reticle stays on target regardless of your eye position behind the sight.
For air rifle shooters, this sight offers an excellent combination of speed and precision. The brightness levels are electronically adjustable from low to daylight-bright, ensuring optimal vision in all conditions.
Practical Use
The V2 version has the control buttons placed on top of the housing instead of at the rear. This makes adjusting brightness and reticle selection more intuitive during shooting. Elevation and windage corrections are easily adjustable and reliably maintain their zero, even after repeated recoil.
The battery (CR2032) is accessible under a protective sticker on the housing. Thanks to the Shake Awake function, you rarely need to replace the battery.
