There's nothing wrong with that at all. You don't have to be an adventurer to appreciate nature. However: what if you are? What if you are a true outdoor enthusiast? Survival knives come in numerous varieties
It is always fascinating to hear real survivalists and other naturalists talk about knives. To a layman, a knife is often just a knife. As long as it's sharp, it does its job, right? In many cases, that's true. But when you go survival, real survival, this often doesn't hold true.
People who are familiar with survival know that it is wise to bring a variety of knives. It may sound a bit exaggerated to those who have never done this, but when you go into the wild, you have to be prepared for anything. Good survival knives are then part of your standard equipment.
Well-known survival knives are combat knives. These are sharp, pointed knives made to save yourself from precarious situations. Okay, on the Dutch moors or in the Belgian Ardennes you will not easily find yourself in such a situation, but ask a specialist in the Australian outback and he will immediately say that these are must have survival knives.

This way you are always assured of a sharp knife the moment it is needed.
A good survivalist is always well prepared. Of course, you can think of survival knives as fancy gadgets, and they are. However, we are serious when we say that it is very wise to take some of these knives with you when you are going to venture on a real intensive survival trip. Nature remains unpredictable.
