The importance of good cutlery

Good cutlery for your barbecue may seem like an unnecessary luxury, but nothing could be further from the truth. Just to be clear, when we talk about cutlery, we mean the utensils you use to prepare your meat. Not the fork and knife you use to devour that juicy steak with.

You may think we're exaggerating, but any chef or barbecue expert will tell you that using the right tools is very important. Want an example? Fine. So what makes a juicy steak so delicious? The tender meat, the spices, the slightly smoky flavor. All true, but most importantly, the juiciness. Nobody likes a dry, tough piece of meat on their plate. That is the risk you run when you turn over a good piece of beef with the help of a fork. A mortal sin!

When too much moisture/fat drains out of your meat, that tender piece will eventually disappoint. Serves you right. Then you should have used good cutlery. Fortunately, we have that for you.

Your basis in order

Different cuts of meat require different approaches. Also when it comes to handling, moving and turning them. A nice chicken leg is best turned with tongs, while for a burger it is better to use a spatula. If your meat is perfect, you can easily prise it off the grill with a fork.

We have a handy starter set of cutlery for you, consisting of a fork, spatula and tongs. Get these, and you know you'll always be just fine. If your meat doesn't live up to expectations, at least you can't blame your tools.

Also for loose tongs you have come to the right place, no problem. And of course a good barbecue consists of more than just meat. Grilling a sandwich to go with it... delicious. The best way to do this is with bread tongs. Also handy: if you serve bread in a basket to your guests, of course you put a pair of bread tongs next to it to prevent everyone from grabbing at the bread with their meat and sauce fingers.

The perfect gift

Far too many people who enjoy barbecuing do so with substandard cutlery. Or even without special barbecue cutlery at all. Shame. That's why this is also a perfect gift to give. What BBQ fanatic doesn't get excited about a beautiful new cutlery set? It's an original, fun and affordable gift to give. What more could you ask for?
