Fortmeier Bipod - 5 Positions | Choose from 6 Variants
German Precision Engineering for Ultimate Stability
The Fortmeier bipod is recognized worldwide as one of the most stable and robust rifle rests currently available. These German precision products have been trusted by competition shooters and long-range specialists for decades. With the unique 5-position bridge, you can set the legs at 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, and 180°, providing maximum adaptability to any terrain and shooting position.
Choose Your Perfect Configuration
Through the dropdown menu, you can select from 6 different variants, depending on your specific requirements:
6 o'clock position (mounting under the rifle):
- H171 (6:00) - Compact model: 171mm to 210mm height, weight approx. 510g
- H184 (6:00) - Medium model: 184mm to 235mm height, weight approx. 520g
- H210 (6:00) - Large model: 210mm to 300mm height, weight approx. 620g
12 o'clock position (mounting above the barrel):
- H171 (12:00) - Compact model: 171mm to 210mm height, weight approx. 510g
- H184 (12:00) - Medium model: 184mm to 235mm height, weight approx. 520g
- H210 (12:00) - Large model: 210mm to 300mm height, weight approx. 620g
Why Choose Between 6 O'clock and 12 O'clock Mounting?
The 6 o'clock position (beneath your rifle) is the most traditional mounting option and works on virtually any firearm. This variant features a convenient tension lever on the underside allowing you to adjust cant friction while the bipod remains mounted. Ideal for quick adjustments during shooting.
The 12 o'clock position (above the barrel) is recommended when your rifle has a Picatinny rail above the barrel. The major advantage is that gravity works in your favor, the rifle always hangs straight down and alignment is significantly easier. The tension must be preset with a hex wrench. Note: when using the 12 o'clock position, the mount only becomes visible in your scope at magnifications below 4x-5x.
Technical Specifications That Make the Difference
All Fortmeier bipods are manufactured from anodized aluminum with high-grade composite components. The legs are adjustable via a spring-loaded push button, with each model offering different height adjustment ranges. The frame is completely disassembleable, and the legs can be folded forward, backward, and sideways (5 positions), making transport exceptionally compact.
The construction is so robust that these bipods can be used without issues for calibers up to .50 BMG. All screws can be tightened or loosened with Torx or hex keys, allowing fine-tuning of all moving parts without special tools.
Practical Applications in Shooting Sports
For long-range precision shooting, Fortmeier bipods are the gold standard. The 5 leg positions enable you to perfectly adapt your shooting position to the terrain, whether shooting prone from uneven ground, working from a shooting bench, or operating in tactical situations.
The bipod performs excellently in disciplines such as F-Class, Benchrest, PRS (Precision Rifle Series), tactical precision shooting, and long-range hunting. Due to the solid central mounting, your balance remains optimal, directly contributing to consistent shooting results. The ability to position legs at different angles helps in finding the perfect shooting position, even in challenging field locations.
Which Model Suits You?
- H171: Perfect for shooters seeking a light, compact bipod for prone shooting or low shooting positions
- H184: The most versatile option, suitable for most shooting disciplines and terrains
- H210: Ideal for higher shooting positions, benchrest shooting, or when you need more height adjustment
Mounting and Compatibility
Important: This bipod requires a separate Fortmeier Picatinny adapter (available separately) for mounting on your rifle. The adapter enables mounting on any standard Picatinny rail. Other mounting options are also available in our range, including adapters for M-LOK, ARCA Swiss, UIT rails, and specific adapters for Blaser R93/R8 and Mauser M03.
