The Bore Tech Eliminator is a patented bore cleaner that removes both copper and carbon fouling simultaneously. The formula is 100% ammonia-free, biodegradable, and completely safe for your barrel. You can leave the Eliminator to soak indefinitely without any risk of etching or damaging barrel steel — something ammonia-based solvents cannot offer.
Copper and carbon in a single treatment
Most bore cleaners target either copper or carbon. The Eliminator tackles both at once. Chemical surfactants in the formula loosen and release carbon deposits from the barrel surface, while a patented oxidation process captures copper fouling and suspends it in the cleaning solution. This prevents copper from redepositing onto the bore wall. The result is a more efficient cleaning process that uses fewer patches and takes less time.
Safe for all barrel steels
The Eliminator is safe for stainless steel, chrome-moly steel, chrome-lined barrels, and all other commonly used barrel steels. It can also be used on nickel-plated components, provided the contact time is limited to 3-5 minutes. The formula will not damage polymer, fiberglass, or laminated stocks.
Built-in rust prevention
After cleaning, you do not need to immediately apply a separate preservative. The Eliminator contains a short-term rust preventative that protects your bore for up to two weeks. Simply apply your last patch lightly dampened with Eliminator and your barrel is protected. For long-term storage, we recommend using Shield XP Rust Preventative for extended protection.
Recommended cleaning procedure
For best results, use the Eliminator with nylon brushes rather than bronze brushes. Bronze brushes react with the copper-removing agents in the formula, producing false copper indications on your patches. We recommend using Bore Tech Proof-Positive nylon brushes together with a Proof-Positive patch jag and X-Count cleaning patches. Always push patches through the bore in one direction only.
Steps for a thorough cleaning
1. Wet 3-4 patches with Eliminator and push them individually through the bore to remove loose fouling.
2. Make 10-15 passes with a tight-fitting nylon brush saturated with Eliminator.
3. Repeat step 1 and let the Eliminator soak for 3-5 minutes. For heavily fouled barrels, extended soak times may be required.
4. Push dry patches through the bore until they come out clean.
