Lead removal where it matters
Rimfire ammunition predominantly uses lead projectiles, often coated with a wax layer. This combination creates a different type of fouling than you encounter with jacketed centerfire ammunition. The Rimfire Blend contains a specific mix of surfactants, penetrants, and releasing agents that lift lead deposits from the bore surface. The chemical action does the heavy lifting — you spend less time brushing and patching. The results are immediately visible: after a soak cycle, you will see flecks and strands of lead fouling coming out of the bore.
Perfect for .22 LR competition shooters
In precision rimfire competitions such as IR 50/50, ARA, and 50-meter benchrest, bore condition is critical for consistent groups. The Rimfire Blend effectively removes the carbon ring that forms in the chamber — a recurring issue with many .22 LR rifles. Let the Rimfire Blend soak in the chamber for 5-10 minutes, rotate the patch a few times, and the carbon ring is gone. During regular use, a brief cleaning session with a few wet patches is sufficient to maintain precision.

The Rimfire Blend is 100% barrel safe and can remain in the bore indefinitely. This is a significant advantage over ammonia-based cleaners, which can etch barrel steel with prolonged contact. You can apply the cleaner in the evening, push a dry patch through the next day, and go straight to shooting.
Not just for rimfire
Although developed for .22 LR and other rimfire calibers, the Rimfire Blend also works excellently for Cowboy Action shooters and anyone using cast lead bullets. Wherever lead fouling is the primary concern, the Rimfire Blend outperforms universal bore cleaners.
Recommended cleaning procedure
1. Wet 3-4 patches with Rimfire Blend and push them individually through the bore. Always in one direction only.
2. Make 10-15 passes with a tight-fitting Bore Tech nylon brush saturated with Rimfire Blend.
3. Repeat step 1 and let soak for 5-10 minutes. For stubborn fouling, extend the soak time.
4. Push dry patches through until they come out clean.
5. For storage, apply a dampened patch with Rimfire Blend for short-term rust protection (up to 2 weeks).
6. For extended storage, use Shield XP Rust Preventative or Friction Guard XP gun oil.
