Imperial Dry Neck Lube 1 oz - Redding
During sizing your case neck gets compressed and then re-expanded by the expander button. That generates friction. Without neck lubrication that friction can scratch the neck, cause uneven deformation, and shorten the life of your brass. Imperial Dry Neck Lube solves that with a dry graphite powder you simply apply to the case neck before sizing.
How it works
Open the container, dip the case neck in, and the powder adheres to the brass. Both the inside and outside are treated in one motion. The graphite forms a thin, dry layer that drastically reduces friction between the case and the die. No more chattering of the neck in the die, no scratches on the brass, and the expander button glides through the neck smoothly instead of stuttering.
The big advantage over liquid neck lubricants: it is dry. No residue left behind that could contaminate your powder or primers. You do not have to clean the necks after lubrication. Dip and carry on.
Standalone or refill
You can use Imperial Dry Neck Lube in two ways. Directly from the container by dipping the case neck in, that is the fastest method. Or as a refill for the Imperial Application Media, the ceramic medium that comes pre-impregnated with this powder. When the media becomes less effective over time, add some Dry Neck Lube and it works like new again.
When to use
Every sizing session. It costs you five seconds extra per case and the difference in how smoothly your die runs is immediately noticeable. Especially when working with bushing dies or expanding mandrels, neck lubrication is important. The neck is closely calibrated during those operations and any irregularity in friction affects your neck tension.

What else is in the series
Redding makes three products for case lubrication. Imperial Sizing Die Wax for the outside of the case (on a lube pad), Imperial Dry Neck Lube for the neck, and Imperial Application Media as a ceramic medium pre-impregnated with the Dry Neck Lube. The container you see here is the loose powder, usable both as standalone and as a refill for the media.
