Botnia Solutions
Botnia Solutions is a Swedish manufacturer of muzzle brakes and steel targets, founded by PRS shooter Tobias Lindgren. What started as a search for better equipment for personal use grew into a brand now used by top shooters around the world. We are an official Botnia Solutions dealer in the Benelux.

From shooter to manufacturer
Tobias Lindgren started shooting PRS competitions in 2021 and quickly became part of the Swedish national shooting team. He also organises the Botnia Long Range match in Degerön, Sweden. That combination of competing, organising matches and talking to top shooters every day gave him a clear picture of what was missing from the market. Muzzle brakes in particular had room for improvement. Existing models reduced recoil well enough, but the side effects were often a problem: harsh concussion for the shooter and spotters, dust clouds when shooting prone, and aggressive forces that caused bipod jump.
Botnia Solutions is the answer to those issues. Based in Umeå in northern Sweden, the company develops and manufactures muzzle brakes using Computational Fluid Dynamics and Selective Laser Melting. No traditional milling and trial runs, but simulated gas flows optimised before the first prototype is printed.
The Gen 1 muzzle brake
The main product is the Gen 1 series muzzle brake, available in four sizes: Mini, Midi, Maxi and Mega. All four built with the same technology and materials, but in different dimensions for different applications.
What makes the Botnia different from most brakes on the market is the square profile with long, directional gas channels. Where conventional brakes spread gas in a wide cone, the Botnia guides it in a tight line. The ports face upward, which reduces muzzle rise without the destructive vertical forces that cause problems with many competitors. No jumping bipods, no visible barrel deformation in slow motion, no excessive stress on bedding and action screws.
The series deliberately has no top ports. That was a requirement from the PRS shooters who co-developed the design. Carbon build up in top ports shifts your zero in ways that are difficult to predict. Leaving those ports out prevents that issue entirely.
The body is produced using SLM 3D printing, enabling internal geometries that are impossible to achieve with conventional milling. The threads and bore are CNC finished to near 0% runout. Every brake ships with a multitool, two bubble levels for alignment, and a hard case with laser cut foam.
Recognition in the precision shooting world
The Botnia muzzle brake has quickly gained attention from top shooters worldwide. Runar Jonsson, international director of the Precision Rifle Series and member of the Norwegian national team, called it the most exciting product launch since Spuhr introduced their mounts in 2010. Dirk Sauber, national champion of Namibia and number 6 at the 2024 IPRF World Championship, described the Maxi as exceeding his expectations. Keith Glasscock, one of America's most successful F-Class shooters who has since moved to PRS, said it was the first time he could actually see his trace and impacts through the scope.
These are not marketing quotes from sponsored shooters. These are independent top competitors speaking from personal experience.
Why we carry Botnia
We are always looking for brands that add something to our range. Not just another muzzle brake, but a product that demonstrably outperforms what is already available. The Botnia does that. The combination of CFD development, SLM manufacturing, low concussion and the feedback from international top shooters convinced us. We tested the brake ourselves and were impressed by how calm the rifle stays after the shot. You see your trace, you see your impact. That changes how you shoot.
