Ultra Match barrel blank by True Flite
The Ultra Match barrel blanks by True Flite are the foundation for an accurate, made-to-measure precision barrel. They are designed for precision builds and give your gunsmith a reliable starting point for benchrest, F-class, Palma and long range.
Material and finish
The blanks are made using bottom rifling and machined from high-grade 416R steel, which guarantees excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance. For long-range precision shooting this means consistent performance and a long barrel life.
The chemical composition is as follows, shown in percentage points: carbon 0.11, manganese 0.36, silicon 0.39, phosphorus 0.017, sulphur 0.10, chromium 12.26, nickel 0.38, molybdenum 0.36, the remainder iron. To be clear, sulphur 0.10 means 0.10 percent and not 10 percent.
Made-to-measure contour and fluting
You decide the shape of your barrel. We offer seven contours, Match, Heavy taper, Varmint, Palma, Light taper, Heavy straight and Light Straight, and other profiles are available on request, for example Medium Palma, Heavy Palma, M24/M40, MTU, Sporter, Bull and Sendero. You set the exact shape with dimensions A through G, from the chamber diameter to an optional straight muzzle section. The chamber end stays straight and at full diameter on every contour, so your gunsmith can cut the chamber to your specification.
For fluting you choose from no fluting, straight fluting or twist fluting. Fluting gives a distinctive look and also helps with weight saving and better heat dissipation. Indicative costs for contouring and fluting are around 225 euro, feel free to ask us for an exact quote and lead time.

Good to know
The barrels are supplied without a chamber, so your gunsmith can cut the chamber to your specification. We are not a licence holder and therefore cannot cut the chamber ourselves, but we are glad to help you further. For the chamber work and the rest of the build we work together with gunsmith Fine Steel Tooling, so you can count on expert guidance from blank to finished barrel.
We provide contouring and fluting on request. Always check local laws and licensing requirements before having a barrel machined or fitted.
