The poncho is made from 100% ripstop. That is a weave with an embedded grid yarn that stops a small tear from running further. The material is light but strong, exactly what you want in something you use now and then and carry folded up the rest of the time. At around 340 grams you do not even feel it in your bag.

Folded up the poncho is compact enough to keep in your range bag as standard. That way you always have it with you, even on the days you do not expect rain. And that is exactly when it comes in handy.
