The complete ballistic solution for long range

The Kestrel 5700 Elite with Applied Ballistics and LiNK is both a weather meter and a full ballistic calculator in one. You measure wind, pressure and air density on the spot, and the device turns that straight into elevation and windage corrections for your shot at extreme range. For the serious long range shooter this is the tool that takes the guesswork out of your first round, you read off your correction and dial it on your scope. The Elite is the flagship of the 5700 line and we stock it in Tan and Black.

Applied Ballistics down to the finest detail

At its core sits the trusted Litz library with measured G1 and G7 ballistic coefficients for more than 225 long range bullets, backed by custom drag curves for bullets you want to push beyond their supersonic range. The solver corrects for aerodynamic jump, spin drift, the Coriolis effect and drop scale factoring in the subsonic zone. If your impacts do not match the prediction, you true the system with your real world data so your solution keeps getting sharper. You choose whether to calculate with G1, G7 or a custom drag profile.

More than ballistics alone

As a weather meter the Elite measures up to 15 environmental parameters, including wind speed and direction, crosswind, head and tailwind, temperature, humidity, dewpoint, barometric pressure, altitude and density altitude. Exactly the data that make or break your correction at distance. The high resolution screen is easy to read even in full sunlight, and the red night vision backlight keeps your eyes adjusted to the dark. The window is scratch and breakage resistant and the menu navigation is intuitive.

Working wirelessly with LiNK

With LiNK you connect the Kestrel over Bluetooth to the free app on your phone, up to around 30 metres with a clear line of sight. That lets you load your gun and bullet profiles onto the meter in seconds, make backups and run firmware updates. The Elite stores up to 30 gun profiles and works with compatible devices such as the Bushnell CONX rangefinder, so you can see your solution right on your gear. Custom curves come straight from your phone, and the rest you can also enter manually if you prefer.

Who the 5700 Elite is for

This meter is made for ELR, PRS, F-Class and long range hunters who want their first shot to count. With a maximum range up to 5500 yards and storage for multiple rifles and plenty of targets, the Elite is at home on the range, in the field and at a match. If you shoot several calibers or rifles, you switch between profiles in seconds.

How to use it

Build your gun profile in the LiNK app and send it wirelessly to the meter, pick your bullet from the library and you are ready to calculate. Measure your wind and air conditions on the spot, read off your correction and dial it on your scope. Power the Elite with a single AA battery, and Kestrel recommends Energizer Ultimate Lithium for reliability and cold weather performance. The battery compartment sits safely at the back, separated from the electronics.
