Hulder Mk2 support pillow - Ulfhednar
In PRS you shoot from everything. Barricades, tree trunks, fences, tyres, rooftop edges. Your rifle never sits the same way twice. And that is exactly where you need a support pillow that adapts to the situation. The Hulder Mk2 does that. The fine sand moulds to your rifle on top and to the barricade on the bottom, giving you a stable contact point that would not exist without the bag.
Why sand
Sand is heavy. That is an advantage, not a drawback. The weight keeps the bag in place and absorbs recoil. The fine grain moulds tightly around your rifle and the surface, much tighter than foam or plastic bead fill. The result is a contact area that does not shift when you pull the trigger. In PRS where you get one shot per position, that makes the difference.
The Mk2 has a fill opening that lets you add or remove sand. Some shooters want their bag firm as a brick, others a bit looser so the rifle sinks in deeper. You set it yourself.
Grip through wax treatment
The exterior of the Hulder is treated with a wax coating. Sounds subtle, but the difference on a smooth barricade is significant. An untreated Cordura bag slides on coated wood or steel. The wax gives a tacky feel that keeps the bag in place, even on angled surfaces. In wet conditions it still works.
Construction
Cordura outer layer, reinforced with UH-Web at the stress points. Ulfhednar uses this material across all their products and it is known for its abrasion resistance. The seams are solid, the handle is firmly attached, and the whole thing is built to survive years of match abuse. It is a bag you throw on the ground, use in the mud, and that still looks the same after a hundred matches.
Size and weight
22 by 15 by 10.5 centimetres. Compact enough to hang from your belt or stuff in your range bag. At 3,650 grams it is not lightweight. It does not need to be. The weight is functional. If you want a lighter option for stages where you move a lot, look at the Ulfhednar Squeezy. The Hulder is for positions where stability outweighs mobility.

How to use the Hulder
Place the bag on the barricade or rest, push your rifle into it, and adjust your position. The sand moulds to your stock or forend and to the surface underneath. Squeeze the bag for finer positioning. For higher positions lay the bag on its side. Experiment with the amount of fill until you have the firmness that suits your shooting style.
