You clean the bore after every session, but the action and lug recess are often left untouched. That is exactly where brass shavings, powder fouling, bolt grease and leftover solvent build up. This fouling encourages flyers and wear on your bolt and action, and over time it can cause malfunctions. The Bore Tech Action Cleaning Kit is purpose-built to clean precisely those areas thoroughly and safely.
What is inside and why
The kit is thoughtfully put together for the precision shooter who wants a truly clean action. You get a polished stainless steel rod of 20" with a 0.250" diameter and 8/32 female thread. The handle sits behind the stock so you can work freely, even with a high cheek piece.
The molded rubber wiper is solvent resistant. You spike a patch onto it and use it to clean the action walls and the lug recess. A polymer centering collar keeps the rod centered in the action and protects the components from scratches. For the chamber there is a medium cotton chamber mop, suitable for roughly 6mm/.243 to 7.62/.308. The included 2½" round cotton patches are used together with the wiper. Everything stores in the clear tube with a screw cap and hang hole.

How to use the kit
First clean the chamber with the chamber mop and dry it. Then put a lightly dampened patch on the rubber wiper and run it through the lug recess. Repeat until the patch comes out clean and dry. For the best result, combine the kit with a good degreaser and a copper or carbon remover, these are not included.
Compatibility
The kit fits most 2-lug centerfire bolt actions with a bolt body of 0.695" to 0.700", including many Remington, Winchester, Ruger, Browning, Savage and various custom actions. For 3-lug actions or different bolt diameters (such as certain Weatherby, Sako, Kimber and CZ), a separate wiper or custom collar is needed, available separately.
