Muzzle guards crown protector - BoreTech
Anyone who cleans their barrel from the muzzle takes a risk with the crown. That small edge at the end of the barrel largely determines how accurately you shoot. One wrong move with the cleaning rod and you damage it. The BoreTech muzzle guard takes that risk away.
The guard does two things at once. It centers the cleaning rod in the barrel, so the rod runs straight and does not drag along the wall. And it shields the crown, so the rod cannot strike or drag against it. The result: you clean safely from the muzzle, without putting your accuracy on the line.
The part is made from barrel safe brass. Brass is softer than steel and does no damage to your barrel, even with intensive use. A simple piece of kit, but an important one for the precision shooter.
Use
Slide the muzzle guard onto your cleaning rod before you attach an accessory. The large, flat face with the knurled edge points toward the handle of the rod. Then attach your brush, jag or mop to the end and carefully insert the whole thing into the barrel. The guard rests against the muzzle and keeps the rod centered while you clean.
Sizes and compatibility
The muzzle guards come in two sizes. Choose the size that matches your caliber:
• .22 - .26 cal: through diameter .203", recommended for the 22RF Bore Stix and the .22 cal V-Stix
• .27 cal and up: through diameter .250", recommended for the 6mm Bore Stix and the .27 cal V-Stix
