Anyone shooting at distance rarely works with just one optic. You have binoculars or a spotting scope to see your hits, and a rangefinder to determine your distance. Constantly switching between separate devices costs time and attention. The Leofoto FDM-03 solves that by putting everything on one rail, on one tripod.

The heart of the kit is the BPL-320 double Arca rail of 320 mm. It has an Arca profile on both the top and the bottom. The bottom clicks into any Arca clamp on your tripod, and on the top you slide your optics to any position you want. That way you set up your configuration exactly as you like. A large bubble level on top helps you get the rail level, which makes for level panning and accurate measuring.

Independent movement

The kit includes an LH-22 ball head in the FDM version. This is not a standard ball head: it is permanently attached to an Arca clamp, so you set it straight onto the rail. With this ball head you move one of your optics independently of the rest. Handy when you want to track a moving target with your rangefinder or spotting scope while the other optic stays in place.

Complete and well thought out

The FDM-03 is a complete four-part set. Alongside the rail and the ball head there is a DDC-38 clamp with a bi-directional quick-release system: compact, solid and adjustable in orientation with the included allen wrench. The NP-60S 60 mm quick-release plate completes the set. All together the kit weighs just 600 grams, so you add a lot of functionality without making your setup heavy.
