Forge 20-60x80 ED spotting scope angled - Bushnell
On the shooting range a good spotting scope is worth its weight in gold. You check hits without walking to the target, you read the wind from the mirage and you note your DOPE based on what you actually see. The Bushnell Forge 20-60x80 is a strong choice for that, with a large objective and high-quality glass at a fair price.
The 80mm objective is substantial. That means plenty of light gathering, which you notice at high magnification and in difficult light at the end of the day. Magnification runs from 20 to 60x, more than enough to make out your impacts at hundreds of metres. The heart of the optics is ED Prime glass, which corrects colour fringing and delivers sharp, high-contrast images with true-to-life colours.
45-degree viewing angle
This version has an angled 45-degree eyepiece. That works comfortably when you sit behind the scope from a prone or seated position, as is often the case on the range. You do not have to twist your neck and keep a relaxed posture, even during a long session. The rotating tripod ring lets you turn the scope around its axis, so you always set the eyepiece in the most comfortable position.
Optics and focusing
All lenses are fully multi-coated, which counters internal reflections and ghosting and increases light transmission. The BaK-4 Porro prisms ensure sharpness right to the edge of the image. You focus with a dual-speed mechanism: a coarse setting to get close quickly, and a fine setting to make the image tack-sharp. That works with gloves on or in the cold too.
Built for the outdoors
The Forge is made to be used outdoors. The EXO Barrier coating on the outside repels water, oil, dust and fingerprints, so your image stays clear. The scope is IPX7 waterproof and nitrogen-filled, which prevents fogging from the inside during temperature changes. An extendable sunshade limits lens flare in bright light. A case is included.
