G4 Pro Geared Head tripod head - Leofoto
At the range you want your spotting scope aimed precisely. Not roughly, not almost. Precisely. A ball head is fast but imprecise, and when you lock it down your image always shifts just a fraction. The Leofoto G4 Pro solves that problem. With three independent geared axes you adjust your scope millimetre by millimetre, without anything shifting when you tighten.
How it works
The G4 Pro combines the freedom of a ball head with the precision of a geared head. When both axes are unlocked, the head moves freely like a ball head. Useful for rough aiming. Once you engage the locks, the gear driven adjustments take over. From that point you turn the knobs for micro adjustments in pitch (tilt forward/back), roll (tilt left/right) and yaw (rotation). Every tenth of a degree is set deliberately. The self-locking shock absorption compensates for the weight of your scope, so the head does not sag when you let go.
On top of that you get two levels of panning. 360° panning on the base of the head for general aiming, and fine geared panning via the GR-2 clamp on top for precise horizontal corrections. Two spirit levels, placed at 90° to each other, make levelling straightforward, even from a low viewpoint.
Arca-Swiss compatible
The included GR-2 geared panning clamp is Arca-Swiss compatible. If your spotting scope has an Arca foot, you click it straight in. No adapters, no fuss. The clamp itself also has a geared pan function, which effectively makes the G4 Pro a 4D system: three geared axes plus geared panning on the clamp.
Compact and light
820 grams and 130 mm tall. Compact enough to fit in your range bag alongside your rear bag and tools. The 20 kg load capacity is more than sufficient for any spotting scope you put on it, including heavier models with large objectives. The UNC 3/8" thread on the bottom fits virtually any tripod on the market.
