A stable tripod makes the difference on the range between a steady image and a dancing one. The Sirui Sportich SP124+B5X is built for that stability. It is the sturdier version in the Sportich line, with thicker legs and a ball head that handles heavier work, without the tripod becoming bulky.

The legs are made of 8-layer carbon with a diameter of 26.5 mm. That gives more rigidity than the thinner SP024, which you notice at higher magnification: less vibration, a steadier image. Yet the whole thing weighs just 1.23 kg, so you carry it effortlessly to your shooting spot or out into nature. With four leg sections and a twist-lock system you set it up and fold it down in a few seconds, to 57 cm for your backpack.

The B5X ball head

On top sits the B5X ball head. It rotates 360 degrees and works with an Arca-Swiss quick-release plate, so you mount and remove your scope or binoculars quickly. The head moves smoothly and in control, ideal for following a distant target or scanning a horizon.

Flexible on any terrain

The three adjustable leg angles make the tripod suitable for almost any surface. The feet are interchangeable: choose rubber for hard ground or spikes for grip in grass and mud. If you want to work very low to the ground, you reverse the centre column and observe from a low viewpoint. The working height runs from 46 cm to 153.5 cm, so you work comfortably both seated and standing.
