Lock ring wrench for spline drive - Lee Precision

Lee's spline drive Breech Lock bushings come with an integrated lock ring and a splined edge. You set your die once, lock it with the clamping screw and from then on swap dies with a quarter turn. That works nicely, until a bushing sits tighter in the press after a session of full length sizing than your fingers can manage.

That is what this wrench is for. It drops into the splines of the lock ring or bushing and gives you plenty of leverage with very little effort. Your die keeps its setting, because you turn the bushing as a whole rather than the die itself.

What it is for

Lee lists the wrench for spline drive lock rings, spline drive bushings and Lock-Ring Eliminator bushings. If you run the Lee Spline Drive Breech Lock Quick Change Bushings, this is the wrench that goes with them. It helps when fitting them too, when you want to snug a bushing down that little bit further.

Nylon

The wrench is made from black nylon, so there is no metal touching the bushing, which is a plus on anodized aluminium. Do not lean on it harder than needed. It is designed for tightening and loosening, not for forcing a seized ring free.
