Frankford Arsenal Perfect Seat Hand Priming Tool
The Frankford Arsenal Perfect Seat is a hand primer that lets you adjust primer seating depth in 0.001" increments, with a total adjustment range of 0.050". A built-in hard stop prevents you from over-seating or crushing a primer, regardless of how much force you apply to the handle. The tool ships with 12 shell holders covering more than 650 calibres.
Adjustable depth with hard stop
The adjustment wheel on the body is the key feature of this priming tool. Each click moves the depth by 0.001", and you can both feel and hear every click. Once you've set the desired depth, it remains constant throughout your entire session. The positive hard stop ensures the primer never goes deeper than the set value, no matter how hard you squeeze. That's a significant advantage over conventional hand primers where you rely entirely on feel.
For precision shooters, consistent primer seating is essential. A primer that sits slightly high can affect bolt closure, while a primer seated too deep alters anvil height and affects ignition sensitivity. The Perfect Seat eliminates these variables.
12 shell holders for broad calibre coverage
The tool comes with 12 numbered shell holders: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, #12 and #19. Together they cover more than 650 calibres, from .204 Ruger to .375 H&H and .45-70. The numbering follows the Lee system, and both the shell holders and their pegs in the storage case are numbered so you always grab the right one immediately. The case has room for 3 additional shell holders for less common calibres.
Works with small and large primers
The Perfect Seat handles both small and large primers. Switching between the two is done via a quick-release thumb knob at the top. Both seating stems (for small and large primers) are included and stored in the case.
Primer tray with ridges
The included primer tray holds over 100 primers. Ridges in the bottom orient primers automatically cup-side-up when you shake the tray side to side. A sliding gate over the feed chute prevents primers from sliding out when you set the tool aside.
Robust construction
The body is die-cast zinc with steel internal components. This makes the tool considerably heavier and sturdier than plastic hand primers. You feel exactly what's happening during priming – when the primer touches the bottom of the pocket, when it's fully seated. That tactile feedback is precisely why many reloaders prefer a hand primer over priming on the press.
