The Cheap Die's Mate from Derraco Engineering is a clever solution for reloaders who want micrometer-accurate adjustments without investing in expensive competition dies. This measuring instrument mounts on any standard reloading die with 7/8-14 threads and gives you direct, readable control over your die settings.
Where you would normally have to guess and test to find the correct seating depth or shoulder bump, with the Cheap Die's Mate you read exactly how much you adjust the die. One push of the button and you switch between metric and imperial units. No more trial-and-error, no wasted cases during setup.
Aircraft-grade aluminum construction
The base and upper frame are CNC-milled from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy with a Type II hard anodized coating. This coating provides excellent wear resistance and protects against corrosion in your reloading room. The vertical rod is manufactured from 303 stainless steel for maximum rigidity and durability.
Brass-tipped grub screws protect both your die threads and the vertical rod from damage. These are not plastic parts that wear out over time, but solid metal components that last for years.
Compatible with virtually all dies
The 7/8-14 locking ring fits dies from all common brands: RCBS, Redding, Hornady, Lee, Forster, Lyman, and more. Additionally, the ring can be mounted directly on a Forster Co-Ax press as a locking ring, eliminating the need for a separate lock ring.
The dial holder accepts dial indicators with an 8mm shank. Note: dial indicators with a 9.5mm shank are not compatible. Derraco offers both digital and analog dial indicators as options.
Choice of digital or analog dial indicator
The digital dial indicator offers readings in both inches and millimeters with one push of the button. Ideal for reloaders who want to quickly switch between measurement systems or who prefer a clear digital display. The analog dial indicator is a reliable choice for those who prefer a mechanical instrument without batteries.
With the dial indicator, you choose between a 303 stainless steel probe tip or a tungsten carbide probe tip. Tungsten carbide is extremely hard and wear-resistant, keeping the probe tip accurate for years, even with intensive use.
From standard die to competition level
With the Cheap Die's Mate, you get the maximum from your existing dies. Instead of spending hundreds of euros on Redding Competition or Forster dies, you upgrade your current set for a fraction of the price. The accuracy you achieve is comparable to that of competition dies, but without the substantial investment.
