OriginCal Absolute digital caliper 6" IP54 - iGaging
With an ordinary digital caliper every session starts the same way: close the jaws, press zero and hope you do not forget. An incremental caliper simply loses track of its zero once it is switched off. The OriginCal Absolute does not.
What absolute measuring means
The OriginCal uses absolute encoding. It reads the jaw position directly from the scale in the beam, rather than counting how far it has moved since the last zero. The origin is stored. Switch it on with the jaws open and it shows the correct size right away. That rules out errors from a forgotten or misplaced zero, which pays off when you measure dozens of cases or cartridges in a row.
Do still check zero now and then with clean, closed jaws. Absolute encoding takes care of zeroing, but dirt between the jaws is still dirt.
Data output for your measurements
The SPC/USB port lets you send readings to your computer, for example to log case lengths or cartridge lengths per lot in a spreadsheet. You need the iGaging SPC/USB data cable (100-700-USB) for that, sold separately.
