Expand your comparator with an extra bushing holder

The bushing holder is the part that holds your comparator bushing on the jaw of your calipers. With an extra holder you do not have to keep rebuilding your setup, you simply have a second one ready for another caliber or another measurement. This version uses a single thumb screw, so you tighten and release the bushing with your fingers, without reaching for a hex wrench.

Why the thumb screw version

The thumb screw is above all handy and fast. If you want to switch quickly between bushings while measuring, this is the most practical choice. Keep in mind that the screw can stick out a little and so may get in the way during some measurements, and that the grub screw version sits a fraction truer on the calipers. For anyone who values convenience over the very last bit of accuracy, the thumb screw is ideal.

Use

With your Derraco comparator and the right bushing you accurately measure the ogive length of your bullet (CBTO) and the headspace of your case from the shoulder datum, two measurements that make the difference in consistency for the precision reloader. The bushing holder keeps that bushing steady in place, so your measurement is repeatable.

Compatibility

This bushing holder works only with the Derraco Engineering Headspace & Bullet Comparator set. It does not fit the Hornady comparator set.
