Perfect chamfering for VLD bullets
The 22° Inner Chamfer Cutter is an optional cutter for the Ugly SRT Case Trimmer that applies a 22-degree chamfer to the inner diameter of the case neck. This chamfer is essential for smoothly seating elongated VLD bullets (Very Low Drag) without damaging the copper jacket.
After trimming your cases, a sharp edge often remains on the inside of the case mouth. With conventional bullets this is rarely a problem, but VLD bullets with their long, pointed ogive are more sensitive to damage during the seating process. A proper inner chamfer ensures the bullet slides centered into the case without resistance or damage.
Six cutting blades for a clean finish
The cutter is equipped with six cutting blades that produce an even, clean chamfer. The minimum cutting diameter of 4.5mm makes the cutter suitable for all common calibers from .17 onwards. Whether you reload .223 Remington, 6.5 Creedmoor, or .338 Lapua Magnum, this cutter fits your cases.
Same precision as the standard SRT cutter
Like the standard trim cutter, this chamfer cutter is manufactured from M2AL-HSS, a high-speed steel known for its hardness and sharpness. The shank is centerless ground for a sliding fit tolerance of only 0.01mm in the shank hole of the SRT body. This prevents wobble during rotation and ensures a concentric chamfer around the entire case mouth.
Use in combination with the SRT
The cutter fits in the same SRT body as the standard trim cutter. After trimming, you simply swap the cutter and perform a second operation to apply the inner chamfer. The Lock n Adjust ring works identically, allowing you to set and repeat a consistent chamfer depth.
Tip: Many reloaders use two SRT bodies, one with the trim cutter and one with the chamfer cutter. This speeds up the workflow because you don't have to swap cutters constantly.
