Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Rotary Tumbler – 7 Litre
The Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series is a rotary wet tumbler with a 7-litre capacity. Where a conventional vibratory tumbler cleans your brass superficially, this rotary tumbler does a far more thorough job. The included stainless steel media pins reach places dry media cannot, such as the inside of the case and the primer pocket. The result: brass that genuinely looks like new.
Why a wet rotary tumbler
The principle is simple but effective. The drum rotates with your brass, steel pins, water, and a splash of cleaning solution. The small pins work their way into every cavity of the case, including the primer pocket and flash hole. Carbon deposits, powder residue, and light oxidation are completely removed. The difference compared to a dry vibratory tumbler is immediately noticeable: the brass comes out evenly clean and shiny, without the need to manually clean primer pockets afterwards.
The drum has a large volume and processes up to 1,000 cases in .223 Remington per session. For larger calibres such as .308 Winchester or 6.5 Creedmoor the count is naturally lower, but you still run substantial batches in one go.
Platinum Series features
The drum features a moulded rubber lining that serves two purposes: protecting your brass from damage and dampening noise. A rotary tumbler with steel pins can produce considerable noise, but the rubber layer significantly reduces the sound level compared to similar tumblers without this lining.
The built-in timer on the base is adjustable from 0 to 3 hours and shuts off automatically. This allows you to start the tumbler and attend to other tasks on your reloading bench in the meantime. The transparent end caps provide a view of the cleaning process without having to open the drum. Additionally, a set of sifting end caps is included for easy separation of the steel pins from your brass after tumbling.
Flexible operation
You can use the Platinum Series in two ways. The standard method uses the included stainless steel media pins with water and cleaning solution. This delivers the most thorough result, with perfectly clean primer pockets and cases both inside and out. The second option is without pins, using only water and cleaning solution. This is suitable for lighter contamination or as a quicker cleaning cycle in between.
The drive system is maintenance-free, meaning there is no belt that can wear out. This is a significant advantage over cheaper tumblers that eventually require a replacement belt.
Included in the box
The Platinum Series comes complete with 5 pounds (approximately 2.27 kg) of 304 stainless steel media pins. This is sufficient for hundreds of washes. A sample packet of Frankford Arsenal Brass Cleaning Solution is also included, so you can start tumbling right away.
