Stainless steel media transfer magnet from Frankford Arsenal
If you wet tumble with stainless steel pins, you know that separating those pins from your brass is the most time-consuming part of the process. The Frankford Arsenal Media Transfer Magnet makes this much easier: submerge the magnet in your mixture of brass and pins, and the steel media is attracted immediately. Pull the handle to release the pins — right where you want them.
How to use the magnet
After tumbling, pour the contents of the drum into a bucket or tub of water. Insert the magnet into the mixture and move it around. The 304 stainless steel pins are attracted and stay attached to the magnet. Hold the magnet over the tumbler drum or a collection tray and pull the handle towards you — the pins drop off and can be reused immediately. Repeat until all pins have been collected.
It is a simple but effective tool. Without a magnet, you can easily spend several minutes sieving or picking individual pins out of your cases. The magnet speeds up this process considerably and prevents you from losing expensive stainless media down the drain.

Practical tip
Always work over a bucket or tray when releasing the pins. Stainless steel pins that end up on the floor are difficult to find — although you can of course pick them up again with the same magnet. Rinse the magnet with clean water after use to remove residue from cleaning solution.
